A: Stairs have been tested and past 60 minutes test with flying colors.

Q: Do your stairs have UL rating stamp and have they been tested by UL or other lab in USA?
A: No, stairs have been tested in Czech Republic by government
licenced testing laboratory , PAVUS a. s. Fire rating certificate has been issued by that company.

Q: Who is PAVUS a.s.? A: PAVUS a.s. is a participating member of ISO (International organization for standardization). They test products
for companies located though the Europe, Germany, France and others. Their test are accepted by other European Union member
countries as well View PAVUS a.s. website. Q: Will the test and certificate
be accepted in USA.? A: May or may not. It is up
to the local Fire Marshal, inspector, your engineer or who ever else has to approve. Use materials available on this web page
to make your case. We don't know of any other attic stairs on the market that would be even close to the quality and fire
protection of this product. Q:
Where are the fire rated stairs manufactured? A:
Stairs are manufactured and assembled in a factory in the Czech Republic. Note that a lot of engineering and investment went
into this product. Stairs are a well designed product intended for heavy duty use, where fire protection is important. Q: What exactly is the cover
door made of and how thick are they ? A: Cover doors
are 1" thick. The core of the doors is made from 22mm ( 7/8") "Grenamat A" board, which is completely
clad with white finished sheet metal. All sheet metal overlap seams are riveted together. All seams are on the top, bottom
of the panel is seamless.

Q: How are stairs labeled.
A: In addition to item description label, there is a metal label with
two lines of codes: EI 15 DI and EW 60 DI. The first line indicates that the foam insulation on the top of cover ( if supplied),
providing normal thermal insulation between attic and occupied space below, has held its insulating properties only for the
first fifteen minutes of fire resistance test. The other line of code indicates the 60 minutes of fire resistance.
